Before City Seafood, there was a little fish stand called Bob’s Seafood. Originally located in an outdoor space in the heart of the Delmar Loop and always serving local customers with a smile, Bob’s started to draw more people into its family of “regulars.” Gradually, customers came from near and far to visit Bob and his fishy fares. Every week Bob would drive his truck to the salty seas of Louisiana and Florida to buy fresh fish from the Gulf and deliver it in ice cases to walk-up customers in the Loop. It was in these early years that a legacy was born.
Over the years, Bob’s expanded beyond walk-up retail into wholesale restaurants and fine dining. The new location at the intersection of I-170 / Olive attracted customers from around town who wanted fresh, convenient seafood options and seasonal offerings. Bob’s was a staple of St. Louis quality seafood for those “in the know.”
In the summer of 2022, a new development project came to town with its periscope on Bob’s prime retail space. That’s when Mike Vujević and Brad Burns started laying out their plans for City Seafood. Mike, the former VP of Bob’s brought his years of experience in retail and wholesale seafood, and Brad bought his expertise in start-up residential and commercial ventures.
Flash forward to today, and Mike and Brad continue the local tradition of fresh quality seafood. After a long-awaited return, City Seafood has now expanded to once again offer retail customers the same high quality, fresh fish and seafood experience, with a wider footprint, expanded menu, customized packages, and the added convenience of online ordering and free local delivery.
Though our name and location have changed, and our sourcing now includes the Northeast, Alaska, and the Pacific Northwest, we still stand behind our quality guarantee and commitment to deliver the best seafood in the City with a smile . . . And that’s no tall tale.
